The texture offered us to use for Photo Art Friday is called brown rice paper. I had a great time experimenting with it.I am once again using photo’s I took while on the train to New Mexico. These remind me of a vintage postcard I have in my collection. I love the simplicity and subtle color in both of them.I can relate to why Georgia O’Keefe fell in love with New Mexico and was inspired by the landscape.

About Roberta
My age tells me that I am in my golden years. My heart tells me that I am still young and that I have much to contribute to this very complex and beautiful world. It is my desire to share about what inspires me through photos and express myself with words that I just can't seem to contain at times and want to spill out on paper. I am not polished in either ability but practice will help to perfect..
Beautiful. Love the texture you’ve chosen. it really suits the image.
Thank you Edith!
Oh yes – your editing has made them wonderfully vintage – taking one back to another time and place. Great work!
Hi Bonnie! Thank you…
That does give them a painting-like quality.
Hi Terry! Thank you for stopping by..
I love that you took the train. I have driven through New Mexico many times over the last, goodness, nearly 40 years!!! and the way you make it look here is SO different!!! Thank you for your kind words about soul-searching and challenges. Brought me a BIG grin ;~D

Hi Currie, I think while on the train I can’t help but want to absorb what I can.. Have you visited Santa Fe? So colorful…

Beautiful southwest scenes.
Beautiful compositions. Very effective use of texture & colour.
At first glance, I thought “hey, this looks like one of those old postcards”. And it DOES! I’m a fan of the southwest (I live in Colorado and travel there) because it has SO many photo opportunities…..for those that SEE! Quite lovely!
Hi Jan, thank you! I look forward to a return visit..Yes, it’s interesting to see how different many of us are when it comes to photography.. fun!
